Start your morning off right with a behind-the-scenes look at the process of bringing our concerts to the stage. Finishing Touches gives our audience the opportunity to observe working rehearsals; selections from the program will be rehearsed at the discretion of the conductor.
Under the baton of Music Director Designate Markus Poschner, Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4 sweeps audiences into a grand adventure through nature’s majesty and medieval romance. With bold brass blasting, the “Hunt Scherzo” gallops with excitement, while the triumphant finale takes you to an unforgettable peak—talk about a wild ride!
Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 5 is a stunning gem that blends Middle Eastern melodies with sparkling piano virtuosity, brought to life by Youl Sun, 2024 winner of the Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition. Composed during Saint-Saëns’ 1896 trip to Egypt, the concerto’s second movement flows with the sounds of the Nile, while the lively finale showcases cascading piano runs evoking the sway of boats on the water and the call of distant, alluring experiences.
