Alabama native, Waffle House enthusiast and stand-up comedian Derrick Stroup is not your average slow talking Southerner. With the cadence of an angry auctioneer, he locks people in with his detailed stories and over the top energy. Derrick is a regular at the world-famous Comedy Cellar in New York City, and is a headliner who regularly sells out shows across the country.
In 2025, Derrick made another appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Derrick also filmed his debut Comedy Special at the Lyric Theatre in Birmingham, AL, set to be released in 2026. He is also making an appearance in the upcoming Nate Bargatze film “The Breadwinner.” Derrick received rave reviews for his involvement in Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Christmas on CBS in 2024. Derrick has toured with some of the biggest comedians in the world, including Bert Kreischer, Larry the Cable Guy and John Crist; and he continues to make special guest appearances on Nate Bargatze shows.
