JOB SUMMARY
Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates Division-presented Community Engagement events, programs, and activities both within and outside of Division venues. Develops and maintains community partnerships to optimize engagement with County demographics that are underrepresented in the Division’s patrons, clients, and collaborators.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Event Management, Business, Sociology, Public Planning and Policy, Broadcasting, Performing Arts, Technical Theater, Fine Arts (Acting, Musical Theater, Design & Production), Marketing, Hospitality Management, Public Relations, Communications, Psychology, or other closely related field, plus a minimum of three (3) years of directly related work experience in event planning and execution; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and actualizes Division-presented events and activities both at Division venues and in the wider Salt Lake County community.
- Conceptualizes, develops, and implements multi-year strategic planning for community engagement events, activities.
- Develops and maintains strategic community partnerships with community organizations, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Researches and develop new relationships according to the needs of Division-presented or -led events, activities, and resources.
- Develops tactics to increase accessibility, awareness, inclusion, and diversity of Arts & Culture events and services.
- Oversees project evaluation and data collection; records, assesses, and presents programming metrics to improve future programming.
- Collaborates with Arts & Culture Marketing team to promote and publicize Division-presented events, activities, and resources, including copy, content, and design development.
- Conducts artist and community research to identify priority audience and client demographics.
- Coordinates, negotiates, and oversees artist, vendor, and partner contracting and payments related to Division-presented events and activities.
- Researches and assists Communications Manager in writing, developing, and submitting grant applications.
- Assists in developing budget projections, forecasts, and requests. Implements, tracks, and monitors event, activity, and resource expenditures within approved budget.
- May develop earned revenue streams such as food and beverage, commissions, sponsorships, etc, and in those cases performs ongoing assessment of revenue relationships to optimize.

Additional Information
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work duties are typically performed indoors, with some exposure to outdoor environments as required by events or activities. Requires ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat and lift up to 30 pounds. May require significant standing and walking.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS TIME LIMITED POSITION
Time-limited appointed employees will perform work for a specified amount of time dependent on agency funding. They are exempted by law from the rights of a merit employee and work as an at will employee.
May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed. Requires travel to locations throughout the County.
